I'm Back!!!!

LOL oops i guess i kinda forgot about this blog for a few months.

Anyway, still on the weight loss journey. I'm currently doing Insanity as well as an 8 week running program. I'm on week 3 of the running program and week 2 of Insanity. For those of you who know Insanity, it is INTENSE!!! I am sore every single day, and you only get one rest day a week. But I really want to lose my gut, I have all this extra stomach fat still left over from having the baby (10 months ago!!!!!!). Its so gross and I can't stand to look at it anymore. So tons of cardio, plus Ab Ripper (from P90x) 3-4x a week and hopefully that will help. If anyone has any tips, let me know I will try ANYTHING!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ok so here are my pics from starting Insanity on June 28th.

i wanted a Reese's.................

so i made this oatmeal!! be careful, its around 310 calories (depending on the brand of protein powder you use), so use it as a meal not a snack. The quality of calories are much better for you than an in actual Reese's, still satisfied my craving, and filled me up for hours!

1 packet instant oatmeal (unflavored, plain), 1 scoop chocolate whey protein powder, 1 Tbs natural peanut butter.
Just cook the oatmeal, then stir in the protein powder and the natural peanut butter.

chicken salad recipe

i made this recipe up a long time ago. i used to make it with regular yogurt, but i switched to Greek yogurt, because it has way more protein than regular yogurt (but less calcium).

i don't really measure to be honest, but this is about what i put.

1/4 c chopped red grapes, 1/4 c chopped red pepper(not the spice, the vegetable LOL), 3 oz plain yogurt, 3-4 oz chopped grilled chicken, a little pepper to taste. Mix together in a bowl. Put it in a whloe grain wrap or pita with spinach leaves or lettuce.

breakfast

for the past week, i've been eating the same breakfast. its really great, keeps me full all morning, powers me through my workout, and is full of veggies and protein. its hard to get veggies in at breakfast so its great, plus its quick!

egg white veggie omelette

3/4 c egg whites (i buy them in a carton)
3/4 c chopped veggies (i bought a bag of frozen Bird's Eye stir fry vegetables and i just add what I need to the pan frozen and all, then close the bag up with a clamp thingy and put it back in the freezer)

all you do is spray the pan with a tiny bit of PAM, stirred the veggies around a bit on medium heat, added the eggwhites, folded it over, and VOILA!!! a yummy, filling, breakfast!! once i added a wedge of laughing cow cheese to it and it was really good too, but i'm trying to stay away from cheese!!

about me and my weight loss so far

Ok so now that the baby is somewhat settled in his Exersaucer, I just wanted to write a bit about me.

I'm 26, almost 27, as my mom so kindly reminded me this morning. I have a GORGEOUS, SMART, AMAZING, INCREDIBLE baby boy who will be 6 months old tomorrow. He is the greatest gift I have ever been given in my life. However, my pregnancy SUCKED to put it mildly. I'm not even going to get into half the shit I went through, because I could make a whole seperate blog just complaining about that.

My pregnancy is a chapter in my life I want to put behind me forever. While I gained an extraordinary son out of it, I also gained 100 pounds and a plethora of stretch marks in places I didnt know stretch marks could go.

I've since lost 94 of those 100 pounds, but since I was already around 25 to 30 pounds above my ideal weight to begin with when I got pregnant, I have about 30 pounds left to go.

It was not easy to lose that much weight in 6 months and I am very strict about my diet. I'm not as strict about my exercise, although I do some form of exercise every day. I will post more details about what I do in terms of diet and exercise in later posts.

In general, I eat very clean. For those of you who are unfamiliar with the concept of "clean eating", the concept is pretty simple. It's basically just eating food that is as unprocessed, unrefined, and "whole" as possible. The main staples of my diet are oatmeal, fruit, veggies, chicken, unsalted nuts, yogurt, natural peanut butter and whole grains. Is it boring? Sure. Do I eat anything besides those things? Barely. Sometimes, I do have a few pieces of a Kashi frozen pizza, a Diet Coke, or a Dunkin Donuts coffee with skim milk and no sugar (a far cry from my old extra cream, extra sugar). I really dont eat anything besides that. Ok, ok, for Valentine's Day I got a box of chocolate covered cherries and I've been eating one a day, because they're my favorite. But that's it.

As for exercise, I dont have access to a gym. I love the gym. When I was working, I used to go to the gym all the time. Now I don't have a car. Or a job. So I do one of 2 things. An exercise video/exercise tv from ONDEMAND. Or go for a walk with the baby. Usually its better to go for a walk with the baby because he doesnt like to sit still for long enough for me to do an hour long workout in front of the TV, plus it gets us both out of the house. It just sucks because its winter and freezing.
Ok sooo this is my first blogging attempt but I've read so many awesome and inspiring blogs lately that i decided to start my own so here goes!!! I dont know any html so my layout will probably be boring for now. But I do want to share my weight loss journey so far. I am definitely not done, have about 30 more pounds to go. I'm posting this with my 6 month old in my lap and he's very squirmy, so I guess thats it until next time!!!
